<p></p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>The Lords of Chaos are four figures from the [[Marcon Alliance|Marconian]] religion, who act as avatars of the Marcon Alliance and are trusted with the [[Twelve Sanctions]]. According to the lore, they arrive in times of need and act as arbiters of the Court. The Lords are spoken of extensively in the [[Bravkar]], though they exist in much older traditions. According to the legend, their names are: The Unspeakable, The Unknowable, The Unbeatable, and The Inevitable. Curiously, they do not hold a place in the Marconian pantheon; rather in each generation a given mage would take up the mantle of one of the lords. They may be cognate with the [[Four Kings of the Last Dynasty]] seen elsewhere in the Course Books; or else, may be [[Dark Lords]] of equivalent powers. Most [[Gudersnipe]] historians deny both identifications. <br /> <br /> Living members of the order used the term &quot;wearing&quot; to describe themselves, as in &quot;wearing the mantle&quot;. The tradition of the mantles is thought to descend from the [[Mantle of Immortality|Mantles of Immortality]] given to the [[Dracosage|Draosages]] in the [[Mythical Age|Age of Myth]].
