The term usually reffers to a forward deployment site, staging facility, or the oft maintained supply depots kept in isolated locations. [[Outbase Rishtag]] is a rather famous example, mainly due to the number of non-lancers who served there during the war.<br /> <br /> Outbase is never applied to space stations or asteroid facilities, the term reffers exclusively to facilities built on planets. In many cases, the outbase may be the only habitation on the planet.
