It is spoken of in the [[The Book of Lore]], but like most aspects of that volume, the true meaning has been lost to time.<br /> <br /> ==History==<br /> ===Mage Wars===<br /> The ring was first mentioned in modern history during the [[Mage Wars]] in the [[Mage Wars#The First Chaotic Period|First Chaotic Period]], during the lifetime of [[Nathan Searlin]]. While his journals do not definitively state whether he ever owned it, they do mention it, and multiple secondary-sources indicate that it may have been at [[High Tower]].<br /> <br /> During the [[Mage Wars#The Dynastic Period|Dynastic Period]], multiple large-scale conflicts were fought over possible locations of the ring, with the [[Marcon Alliance|Marcons]] alone conquering as much as 3% of their territory solely to access sites where they thought the ring might be. There are numerous accounts throughout history of various mages who supposedly owned the ring, but no primary sources.<br /> <br /> ===Alliance Era===<br /> During the [[Ages#The Golden Age|Golden Age]], the ring was deemed fictional. It was not until journals positively identified as belonging to [[Nathan Searlin]] were found in the [[Library of Arindell]] that definitively stated the ring existed, that popular opinion shifted to the idea that it was a real object.<br /> <br /> ==Description==<br /> The band takes the form of a [[Dragons#Blue Air Dragon|Blue Air Dragon]] and is very thick. It is wrapped around a large, intricately cut gemstone. The craftsmanship is said to be exquisite.<br /> <br /> Of much more important note is the materials and enchantments supposedly on it. The band is made from forged [[Mithril]], and the gem is pure crystallized mithril. The gem is cut and enchanted, as is the body of the dragon forming the band. No definitive source exists indicating precisely what the ring does, but if theories about the properties of crystallized mithril are correct, it would provide the wearer with power equivalent to thousands of [[Mage Tower]]s.<br /> <br /> [[Category:Course Books]]</div>
