In Dragonology, a "Pseudo-Sage" is a dragon who is so wise and revered as to be considered on a level with the Dracosages. Pseudo-sages are often regarded as bloodkin to all draonkind, and my cross freely between flights. Most live solitary lives of quiet contemplation, accepting the occasional visitor with whom to share their wisdom. They often spend the entirety of their lives in human-form so as to extend their lifespans considerably. A typical pseudo-sage might live for over two thousand years in this way, more than double the typical lifespan.

Hrethel Jusenkyou was one of the last revered pseudo-sages, their numbers being few and far between.
