Blue Foam is the common name for a number of alchemical heating apparatuses, used mostly to heat water domestically. A Blue Foam Apparatus usually takes the form of a large cast-iron braiser with a quartz control crystal in the side. The enchantment operated by creating a series of temperature inversions that happen near-instantly, allowing large amounts of liquid to be heated very fast. The term is somewhat misleading, as the apparatus is created through alchemical enchanting that does not produce a unique material. It may be better described as "A Blue Foam" but usually the term refers to the enchantment on the device.
A typical fixture of indoor baths, a Blue Foam apparatus can fill an entire tub with hot water in just a few minutes.
