Foundation Commissioners

The Gudersnipe Foundation has 1024 "Commissioners" who appoint the regional commanders throught the Foundation and joint space. These Commissioners are appointed for life, and are tasked solely with determining who is put in charge of where. Officially the commissioners are involved in anything that would put someone in charge of more than one solar system; but they tend to deligate where prudent.

Commissioners differ from Field Commanders in that a commissioner is specifically to assign regional commanders, whereas Field Commanders can only be appointed by the Blind Consul. Field Commanders are also direct millitary leaders, while regional commanders act as civilian governors.
