"Dragon of the Setting Sun" was a title bestowed on Hunter Jusenkyou while he was in command of Gudersnipe's Western Fleet (the school having four fleets named for the cardinal directions). It was used on official documents and was considered a formal designation, unofficially received long before he made the school-rank of Supreme Commander (and before it was discovered that he was half-dragon).
